Expectations for Participants

Our expectations are grounded in respect and common sense. Performing is a deeply vulnerable process. To be truly authentic and present in your work, it’s essential to feel comfortable and safe in your environment. At Vita Nova Entertainment, our goal is to provide that space. We value consent-based, trauma-informed theater practices and put them at the center of our rehearsal and performance process.

Contribute to a safe working environment. Respect your fellow cast-mates, staff members, or crew. Harassment of any kind and/or creating an unsafe work environment will not be tolerated.

Be punctual. Arrive on time or early for rehearsals and performances. It's crucial to respect everyone’s time by being prompt.

Minimize distractions. Rehearsals are for focus and preparation. Regardless if you are involved in a number/scene or not, it’s important for you to understand the flow of the show. We love when the cast grows to love each other and chat, however, there is a time and place to show that love.

Treat rehearsal spaces with respect. We do not have our own rehearsal spaces which means we will be using ones within the community. Clean up after yourselves when leaving a rehearsal space.

No drinking or drug use of any kind is allowed during production meetings or rehearsals. If you are intoxicated, under the influence, and/or unable to perform your duties at your scheduled rehearsal, we will reschedule and it will be counted as an unexcused absence or you will be dismissed immediately.
